Obituary of PEARL PASTUCK

PEARL PASTUCK November 3, 1911 - September 17, 2014 With profound sadness, but grateful to have had her for so long, we announce that our mother passed away peacefully and with dignity to the very end. Pearl was born and raised in Silver, Manitoba, together with ten siblings, where life on the farm was difficult. In 1945, Pearl left the farm striving for a better life for her three children. Through hard work, never-ending challenges and devotion, Pearl raised three children on her own. Son, John, and daughters Joyce Kubishyn and Mary Yaskiewich (Jerry). Among the many challenges that Pearl faced, she was determined to learn how to read when she was in her 60's. How proud all of us were of our Mum. Pearl was not only a loving and devoted mother, she loved to cook and celebrate family birthdays and holidays with joy and a beautiful smile always on her face whenever family was around. Pearl's passion to her children was lovingly returned by her family and because of unselfish care and concern, Pearl was able to remain in her home until she was 100 years of age. Pearl's long-lived life remained a constant source of love and inspiration to her surviving children, John, Mary and Joyce, as well as her grandchildren, Cindy Franklin (Ken) and Lorie Honke (Les), and great-grandson Michael Honke. She is also survived by sister Helen Borkowski, and many nieces and nephews whose visits she always enjoyed. We would like to thank the staff at Meadowood Manor who showed care and compassion to our mother in her final days. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, with interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
