ARTHUR WIRTH

Obituary of ARTHUR PHILIPP WIRTH

ARTHUR PHILIPP WIRTH It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather on October 26, 2014. Arthur Wirth of Selkirk, formerly of Belair, and prior to that Winnipeg, was born in Churchbridge, Saskatchewan on January 23, 1934. He married his sweetheart Susan (From) Wirth of Spy Hill, Saskatchewan on January 22, 1955 and moved to Winnipeg. They celebrated 59 years of marriage; it would have been 60 years in January. Art left the farm and moved to Winnipeg where he worked for a trucking company. Shortly after that he began working for J.H. From Landscaping. He worked there for many years before starting a successful business, Perfect Landscaping, with his son Ryan. He was happy when his son Sheldon began working with them too. Arthur will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his two sons and daughter: Ryan (Leslie) Wirth, Charlene (Harry) Hubatka, Sheldon (Marian) Wirth, all from Winnipeg. Also left to remember him are his 6 grandchildren, Steven (Kirsten)Wirth; Michael (Michelle)Wirth; Stacey (Chris)Besser; Jamie (Weronika)Hubatka; Danae Wirth and Halle Wirth and his 8 great-grandchildren, Ryan Wirth, Riley Wirth, Logan Wirth, Dexter Wirth, Reese Wirth, Calie Besser, Caden Besser, Kiera Hubatka. He was predeceased by his parents Mary and Philip Wirth. He also leaves to mourn his sisters: Helen Anning, Lil (Bruce)Culham), Joyce (Bill)Herd and brother Eddie (Gloria)Wirth. Arthur’s greatest treasures were his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arthur was a hard- working, strong, loving person who always enjoyed a good laugh. Arthur and Susan enjoyed camping when they had the trailer and loved to travel, visiting many different places. He was talented at woodworking and made many projects. He always enjoyed being outdoors at the lake. He enjoyed boating, skidooing and berry picking. He had a special fondness for the family dogs, always giving them lots of treats and attention. In retirement Susan and Art enjoyed many years at their cottage in Belair, Mb. Their door was always open to family and friends who spent many good times together. Our family could not have asked for a better husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a devoted father and gave us so many wonderful memories that we’ll cherish forever. We love you and will miss you. Special thanks go to the staff at Selkirk Hospital for their kind and excellent care. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice in memory of Arthur. A celebration of Art's life will be held at Cropo Funeral, 1442 Main Street on November 1, 2014 at 10:00 am till 12:00 pm.
