Obituary of TARAS MAHALA

TARAS MAHALA It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, family member and friend, Taras Mahala, on Wednesday afternoon, July 1, 2015 at Health Sciences Hospital at the age of 39 after a courageous battle with illness. Taras leaves memories of him to be cherished by his loving wife Anhelina, daughter Solomiya, his parents in Ukraine, and numerous close friends. He was born in Lviv, Ukraine on April 2, 1976 and moved to Canada in April 1999. Taras enjoyed being around those he cared about, and many cared about him. Taras was a compassionate individual who always helped out wherever he could, his knowledge and ability to do various tasks allowed him to share it with others. He loved being with people and was a very cheerful individual, a passionate Ukrainian above all. Taras fought to make those around him happy and calm, especially his family who he dearly loved and cared for through each and every moment of his life. Our family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to CancerCare at Health Sciences Hospital and special thanks on GD6 floor for all their efforts and care. Prayers will be said on Monday, July 6 at 7:30 p.m. at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor Street. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 7 at 10:30 a.m. also at the Cathedral. Interment in All Saints Cemetery.
